Like anything involving multiple parts and people, a wedding ceremony begins with planning. Listed below are some traditional (and not-so-traditional) elements that you may, in some fashion or order, consider including in your wedding ceremony:
A Hot Wax Unlimited D. J. has the knowledge and experience to answer many questions about the wedding ceremony. Wedding ceremony co-ordination is available.
- seating music
- music for escorting in of moms/grandmothers
- designated ushers
- a singer(s) backed with live or pre-recorded music
- musicians (organist/pianist, string trio or quartet, small combo)
- music for entrance of bridesmaids & maid/matron-of-honor
- kids (flower girl/ring bearer/junior bride & groom)
- aisle runner (usually lain by ushers)
- music for bride & escort
- opening prayer or reading by celebrant (judge, pastor, etc.)
- selected reading by friend or family member
- exchange of vows/rings
- song sung/played during ceremony
- lighting of unity candle
- signing of marriage license (sometimes during, sometimes after)
- presentation of gifts to moms/grandmoms (usually a single red rose)
- presentation of gifts to step-children created by the marriage
- closing prayer or recitation
- music for recession
- closing words by celebrant (invitation to reception, etc.)
EQUIPMENT
Sound is an important aspect of any wedding ceremony. Providing clean, well balanced, adequately loud sound can be tricky, especially if large spaces, large numbers of guests, singers or musicians are involved. Good equipment is essential. A Hot Wax Unlimited D. J. can attend rehearsal & ceremony with at least the following gear:
We can include any ceremony music provided by singers or wedding party members.
- a professional grade, powerful, bell-clear sound system including all sources (CD player/cassette deck) necessary for ceremony
- a wireless lapel microphone for the celebrant (judge, pastor)
- singer's choice of wireless or wired microphone
- wired microphones for any instrument mic-ing
*Please inform us prior to rehearsal if you plan to use a cassette tape.
